Gerard de Wit                                        Marc de Wit                                                  Cees de Wit

Germaco have started in May 1988 with Gerard, Marc and in the first years still in abundance active father Cees. For that time cooperated Gerard and Marc about 10 year as an employee at the fa m. de wit & Zn that father Cees with its 14 years younger brother managed Martien. The first ideas for a new company started in 1984, after Gerard slightly had a little time have been put up in America and then at itself thought: if I save it there then I it saves in the Netherlands also. And afterwards 1988 were immediately chosen as a start date.

On 1 jan 1991, came reinforce brother Cees the matter and as from that time the tasks of father became a piece less and will he add itself on supporting activities as balls at in the fund, to lay in a coffin and builds remove barges and messages do.

In 1993, Germaco 1 were already exactly this way large such as it now is. The flowercompany of approximately 50 hectares and the flower department of 15 millions tulpen was economically and logistical optimally and was not malignant here still further. Also it started tickle in 1994, at Gerard and there already "secretly" plans was made for new modern flowercompany/flowerdepartment. After Marc and Cees also were some time made enthusiastic and as a start date for Germaco 2, 1998 were chosen. The size of Germaco 2 was stipulated by the dimension of the plot ground compared with Germaco 1 (what was already in own possession) and of course the logistical possibilities and restrictions. Several scenarios became counted around of 100% tulipsdepartment up to 25% tulipsdepartment and the rest lelies. Of whole on  ground or nevertheless on water. In the first place for whole ground it was chosen because the weatherdepartment in 1997, stood still terrible in the child shoes but had been taken into account there already some things. Nowadays we heat 75% on weather and still but 25% on  ground. And for the summer the lelies were exchanged after some years for zantedeschia's.
